Deasign Group has been selected as the supplier for the Sitra.fi project. The consortium (consisting of Deasign AB, Deasign Oy and Fröjd Interactive AB) was selected out of a group of 33 companies and consortiums that delivered the requests to participate in September and of which 7 left their tenders and final two participated in the trial sprint phase.
The final negotiation phase of the procurement was the week-long trial sprint two weeks ago in which also a consortium of Aucor and Syneus took part in. Both Aucor+Syneus and Deasign delivered excellent results and we were thrilled to see in practice that it is possible to put together a basic working site in a week.
What made the trial sprint even more interesting was that both participants relied on very different technologies in their work. Aucor and Syneus relied on a combination of Django and FeinCMS and Deasign built their site on Drupal. Both technologies proved to be a suitable choice for even a short development phase like this.
Aucor+Syneus's work is online at http://sitra.demo.syneus.fi/ and Deasign published their work at http://welovesitra.org/. Feel free to check the results, but bear in mind that both sites were created in just 150 hours from scratch, so they're not perfect. :)

The companies' end results and working practices were evaluated on the basis of a predefined set of criteria. Deasign got a total of 83,5/100 points and Aucor+Syneus 79,5/100 points, so the competition remained tight to last meters.
